I empower professional women to achieve work-life balance through the practice of self-care

I am Lauren Cartwright, MS, LCPC, a mental health therapist with over 20 years of experience.

Many professional women feel overwhelmed by the struggle to balance their responsibilities, leading to a sense of unfulfillment in areas like relationships, careers, and personal well-being.

I help these women achieve work-life balance by teaching a self-care framework I developed through my own life challenges. This framework transformed my life, and now I want to share it to help women reclaim their lives.

Dedicated to helping women create balance, I guide them from unbalanced, unhealthy lives to ones where they feel more productive, healthy, and fulfilled—balancing work, home, relationships, and personal time for true work-life harmony.

About Lauren.

Hi, I am Lauren Cartwright, MS, LCPC, a mental health therapist with over 20 years of experience.

Seven years ago, I was diagnosed with breast cancer after my first mammogram, which reinforced the critical importance of self-care. It showed me that self-care isn’t optional—it’s literally a matter of life and death. Having felt the overwhelming pressure of balancing work, family, and life’s demands, I speak to professional women about achieving work/life balance.

My goal is to inspire them to establish self-care routines that fit their busy lives, leading to true balance.

When I’m not speaking, you can find me on InsitePsych.com, Psychology Today, Hello Alma, Mental Health Match, and Therapy for Black Girls. I look forward to connecting with you and helping create healthier, more balanced lives together.

My name is Jacqueline Nelson.  On April 4, 2022, my Godbrother, who I have known since I was born, committed suicide in the most extreme way. It broke my ENTIRE HEART AND SOUL.  I honestly didn't know what I was going to do.  This came out of nowhere-I had no clue he was in such pain.   The hurt, the betrayal I felt.  I was ANGRY and it was evident-I couldn't hide it. I cried every single day.  Lauren Cartwright literally put me on her back and carried me when I couldn't even see past the pain.   My tears were never annoying to her; she wiped them.  My silence wasn't offensive-she was silent with me.  She never left me alone.   When she wanted to hug me and I refused (because hugs made me cry more) she didn't take offense.  She held my hand.  She told me to get grief/trauma therapy.  Initially, I wasn't in favorof it.  I said, "well you're a therapist, you help me."  Because of ethics, she couldn't.   I stand here today better, not healed. Honestly, you never get over the death of a loved one, especially when it's an unexpected death.  But because of the woman she is, she didn't let me stay in the darkness I was in.  I sought that help. So to see her 3 years later enter a broader space of helping in self-care, I'm not only proud, but a FAN! I pray that she takes this on a national platform where others can learn, read and grow.  Because of her leadership on taking that journey with me and because she told me to seek help, I am so proud of her.  She's an amazing woman whose passion for therapeutic business is now reaching the masses.. Congratulations, Lauren Cartwright!
